Eric ten Hag was born on February 2, 1970, in Haaksbergen, Netherlands.

 

He started his playing career at FC Twente in 1989, where he played as a defender for 6 seasons.

 

Ten Hag played for a number of other Dutch clubs during his career, including De Graafschap, RKC Waalwijk, FC Utrecht, and FC Twente.

 

After retiring from playing in 2002, he became a coach and worked in various roles at various clubs, including FC Twente, PSV Eindhoven, and Bayern Munich.

 

In 2015, he was appointed as the head coach of Go Ahead Eagles, a Dutch club that plays in the second tier of Dutch football.

 

He led Go Ahead Eagles to promotion to the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football, in his first season as head coach.

 

In 2017, he was appointed as the head coach of Ajax Amsterdam, one of the most successful clubs in Dutch football history.

 

In his first season as head coach of Ajax, he led the club to the final of the Europa League, where they lost to Manchester United.

 

He won the Eredivisie title with Ajax in the 2018-19 season, and also led the club to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they were eliminated by Tottenham Hotspur.

 

Eric ten Hag is known for his tactical expertise and his ability to develop young players. He is considered one of the best young managers in European football.
