As a first-year lawyer, you should quickly review or brush up on three topics.

a. Marriage and annulment;

b. Lands; how to get them, land titles; the modes of transfer of ownership and estate.

Tips to start your job hunting.

Private Practice/ Law Firm.

Choose your area of interest. Choose a company or firm where you want to work if you want to be a labour law or human rights lawyer. Because you are now a lawyer, you have the ability to choose.

Government Practice.

Begin as a court researcher or as a law clerk for a judge, Court of Appeals, or Supreme Court justices. If you want to be a judge or Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, you could also work at the Office of the Solicitor General.

Your new "First Name."

When opening a bank account, make a "same name" affidavit.
