STRANGER poem

She went,

Came back a stranger,

There was no warmth,

No light,

No laughter,

There was nothing,

Just despair,

Anger, hatred,

Bitterness,

She went all angry,

She came back different,

Cold, freezing,

He felt forlorn,

Lost in the beat,

He hoped for a better day,

He was doused with freezing water,

His heart skipped a bit,

His mind went on a long hunt,

He needed answers,

He wanted the truth,

He wasn’t fine,

He was not okay,

He just acted strong,

Played along,

Deep down he was losing it,

Every day he was moving a step away,

He wanted to match the energy,

The vibe, the effort,

But there was none,

How can a beat flow,

Without lyrics,

It was meaningless,

He wanted the best for her,

He gave her the safe space,

Took all her flaws,

Fit himself in all,

Complemented her,

Made her stronger,

He held her,

Through and through,

And now what he gets,

A cold shoulder,

Being shut out,

He no longer means anything,

He is a dead beat,

A walking dead,

Not set in stone,

He won’t be a monster,

He won’t do it casually,

He tried,

He did his best,

He did not wanna give up,

He was willing to give it a try,

He was manipulated,

He was offed,

He was used,

All along he knew,

This day would come,

Where he’d be in the dark,

Left in the cold,

He just never thought it was that soon,

In his darkest moments,

They leave,

In his brightest moments,

They are absent,

A cycle,

The circle,

Pain, anger, bn

Bittersweet memories,

Funny how he thought he could change them,

Weird how he took them by the hand,

Yet he knew they would bite back,

Only now does he know,

It is never different,

It is never wrong,

It ain’t his fault,

It was meant to be,

It was no accident,

It was just their nature,

Treacherous.
