LENT

The begining of lent season is marked by Ash Wednesday. It is celebrated by application of ash on the forehead inform of a cross

why ash? we were created from dust and when we leave this earth we will still go back to been dust

what is lent? a season of fasting where we commemorate the days our Lord was suffering, it usually begins on Ash wednesday and continue to Easter

why purple? Purple color in the catholic doctrine symbolizes penances, fasting,prayers

what are the dos and donts during lent?

1. Prayer- we are encouraged to pray more especially this time of wars and conflicts in our world

2. Fasting- we are encouraged to fast from everything that keeps us away from God

3.Give- we are encouraged to be generous with the gifts God has given us

4.Thank- we are encouraged to give thanks to those who show you the goodness of God

5. Serve- Let us all think of other peoples's needs and serve them

6. Quiet- Be silent, reflect on your interior and exterior life quietly

7. Reflect- think of the things in the past weeks and how you can improve them
