Writer's Block or ADHD?
Ever stared at a blank page like it's a terrifying abyss? After seven years in the word mines, I've figured out there are two main culprits: the infamous writer's block (when your brain just says "nope" to words) and ADHD (when your brain has 17 tabs open and a squirrel holding a tiny rave).
While they're different beasts, they both love to make writing feel like wrestling an greased octopus. But fear not, fellow scribblers! I've got battle plans for both:
For the ADHD Brain: Think smart, not harder! We're talking super-focusing on what excites you, dumping thoughts outside your head (hello, sticky notes!), quick Pomodoro sprints, and zapping every single distraction. And hey, if things get really wild, a pro can help.
For Writer's Block: Time for shock therapy! This means "killing your darlings" (seriously, delete that perfect sentence!), torching your plot with unexpected chaos, writing the "worst scene ever" (it's liberating!), or just ditching your desk for a brain-clearing walk.
Ultimately, it's about understanding your unique brain-beast and finding the right magic trick to keep those glorious words flowing. Now, go forth and conquer that page!
