Chemo

Me again…..forgot to mention a big incident Monday evening at Haven, my son was playing in the park and I could hear screaming and shouting and a crowd of people were looking over at the park. I looked over and could see my son watching on too and there was a woman arguing with 3 young teens. Next thing I see is the woman lunge at one of the kids and had her hands around his neck and throwing punches and he then started to hit back and the 2 young girls he was with were screaming. Took me a minute to process what I was witnessing but was more concerned firstly my son was witnessing this but more the fact everyone was just watching and no one was doing anything to stop it.

I took it upon myself - with my cancer; with my side effects from chemo. Totally spaced out from antibiotics due to infection and absolutely shattered from my days events - I took it upon myself to rush over, pull them apart from each other and stand in between them so no more punches could be thrown and calm things down and eventually security turned up and took over.

I just found it very concerning that no one else took it upon themselves to step in, even with my brain fog I knew it was the right thing to do, I’m not sure why a grown woman was being physical with the teens but it’s not something I want to see and I don’t want my kids to see and didn’t think it was particularly pleasant for all the other young children in the park to see.

I know having cancer and going through chemo has opened my eyes to things but find it very disappointing no one else stepped in to help those kids.

Wishing us all the very best for today
