In the past few months, I happen to attend unpleasant experiences from invitations coming from FB postings!
This involves ads in FB about invitations on how to become an “Associate”, online telemarketer, or other equivalent terms, of a group whereby your final participation will be just doing an online “copy and paste” online telemarketing works, where everything that you will respond to their customers’ query will be responded by you through a scripted company standard communication protocol, with the objective of finally directing the customer to the company’s central marketing and delivery operations department.
Your first contact on FB will ask for your basic personal info then directs you to another one posing as your Trainor/Supervisor/Coordinator that will include you under his/her Team. You will then be required to attend an hour of orientation about your online position, the company, the products and the success stories and testimonials of the people who have been in the company ahead of you by few years, 2 or 3 years. They will show the cheques which indicated the thousands and millions of pesos they have received from the company, the foreign travels they have experienced, and the properties they now owned as fruits of their endeavor with the company.
Well, it may seem the FB post is legit, the products and company as introduced are legit but obviously, the success stories and testimonials are meant to entice the interests of unsuspecting persons to join such org/company, but here is the catch! It violates the general rule, that good investments are realized gradually over the years! What this group of scammers is propagating is a “get-rich-quick” scheme!
At the conclusion of the virtual orientation, meeting and presentation, you will know that they will only accept a limited number of persons for the position as originally posted in FB, say, 50 person attendees only for that particular virtual presentation. The ultimate consideration for one to be accepted as an “Associate”, online WFH telemarketer, or whatever they call it, is if you will agree to send them immediately the one-time investment ranging from 5,000.00 to 15,000.00 pesos. In return aside from you being accepted for the position as posted in FB, you will receive other incentive packages that includes products the company is promoting, Insurance, discount cards, etc. Hence, as if you will receive a package equivalent to the amount you have just invested.
Can you imagine that for just that event, if it is true, the organizers may have earned a whooping 250,000.00 Pesos, minimum?
On one of the occasions I attended, I informed my “Coordinator” that something is not proper about it, and that I personally think that the entire endeavor was a scam, but she assured me that she herself had invested such an amount. I can only assume that those who made the “investment” were used as Trainers/Team Leaders/Coordinators by the Scammers. After the event, the personal FB account of the group, the proponents have all gone in FB. For a while, I did not see similar postings on FB anymore!
But currently, I observed that so many similar postings are again proliferating on FB, and I somewhat blame myself for doing nothing about and against it! I failed to record the virtual orientation meeting presentation of the group, and I failed to save the accounts and my communications with the proponents of the Scammers. I hope somebody particularly a person in authority, who read this article and encounter similar occasions will do what I have failed to do because….enough is enough! I also call the attention of the FB Administrators of Meta, to put a guard in place on FB to thwart these unscrupulous schemes!
