Two (2) of my friends in FB have directly and indirectly admitted the following Biblical facts:
(1) Nowhere in the entire Bible did God Himself in His own words, directly spoken by Him as recorded in the Bible (i.e. The Ten Commandments) , commanded mankind to worship Jesus whether in the belief that Jesus is God, or Lord of Lords, or King of Kings, or Lord, or Master, or Prophet, or Messiah, or Mediator, or god, or a man-Lord, etc., by nature or by any of Jesus’ role as written in the Bible.
(2) Nowhere in the entire Bible did Jesus Himself in his own words, directly spoken by him as recorded in the Bible (i.e. when he allegedly died on the cross), commanded mankind to worship him (Jesus) whether in the belief that Jesus is God, or Lord of Lords, or King of Kings, or Lord, or Master, or Prophet, or Messiah, or Mediator, or god, or a man-Lord, etc., by nature or by any of Jesus’ role as written in the Bible.
Both of my two (2) in FB are actively propagating their worship of the “man-Lord Jesus”, and both admitted their belief that Jesus, although man by nature, is man-Lord that is worthy of worship, in spite of the above Biblical facts and in spite of the commandment of God Himself and Jesus himself as follows:
In the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV), God Himself said, 1 “I am the Lord your God, … You shall have no other gods before Me….”. In Revelation New Living Translation 19:10 Jesus himself said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God.”
While both of my two (2) FB friends admitted the two (2) above-cited Biblical facts, the other directly and the other indirectly, both reason out that worship of the “man-Lord Jesus” is based on manifestations made by the apostles as written in various parts of the Bible which allegedly contains the divine law. Specifically in the New Testaments. However, the said basis is akin to disregarding the Last Will and Testament of a decedent, but giving more importance to the manifestations of other parties-in-interest during probate of the decedent’s Last Will and Testament. But both scenarios are not in accordance with the laws – the divine law and the Law on Succession respectively.
The most common verse of the Bible being used by “man-Lord Jesus” worshippers is Philippians 2:9-11 which states,
“…..God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Aside from the fact that what is written in this verse in NOT spoken by God Himself, of by Jesus himself, please take note that nothing in this verse, is God’s commandment or Jesus’ commandment about worship of the “man-Lord Jesus”.
Worshipers of “man-Lord Jesus” are quick to conclude that the phrase “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow” means that worship of the “man-Lord Jesus” is based on the Bible.
Let us first take a deeper look of the meaning of the phrase, “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow”. Does it really mean the worship of Jesus?
We always see an alternate news anchor on a nationwide TV program referring to himself as reporting in the name of the regular news anchor. This is consistent with the lexicon meaning of the said phrase, by authority of, or in behalf of, or in the name of heaven, for the reason of, etc. This is akin to a Deputy Ciy Prosecutor, approving an Information “by authority of” the City Prosecutor. Hence the use of the said phrase involves two (2) persons. In the verse cited above, it involves Jesus and God the Father.
The phrase “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow” does not mean one has to bow or worship Jesus. The verse also mentioned at the name of Jesus, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Both highlighted phrases refer to a specific purpose, that is “to the glory of God the Father”.
If the phrase “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow” means worship of Jesus, it should have instead explicitly mentioned “every knee will bow to/before Jesus”, as compared to the following Biblical verses both referring to God’s commandment to bow to/before Him:
Isaiah 45:23" That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.
Romans 14:11For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.”
Sad to say, “man-Lord Jesus” worshiperswere denied the true meaning of the phrase “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow” by their religious leaders, misleading them to believe that the said phrase is one of the Biblical basis about the worship of “man-Lord Jesus”. Sorry folks! There is none!
Once, one of the popular leaders of the worshipers of the “man-Lord Jesus” declared that the act of bowing before an authority is an act of worship of idol. I pointed out to them one of their acts of idolatry is bowing during the ordination of their new leaders. The new leaders being ordained are bowing in front of their most senior leader during the ordination prayer. Their response: the said bowing act is just akin to a child being made to bow atop a winnowing basket or bilao of mongo beans because of lapse/s made by the child as punishment for the lapse/s. Sorry again my dear “man-Lord Jesus” worshiper-friends, the ordination is an official religious act, the bowing atop a bilao of mungo is not.
Wake-up folks, my dear friends, relatives, and acquaintances still worshiping the “man-Lord Jesus”! Do not be blinded continuously by your pride! It is your soul at stake.
It is high time to accept that, the word “jake” is different from “Jake”, “bank of America” is different from “Bank of America”, “far east” is different from “Far East”, “church of Christ” is different from “Church of Christ” is also different from “churches of Christ”, “laptop” is different from “LapTop”, etc., etc.
It is a fact that worship of Jesus is based on the many verses of the Bible that can be construed as “Jesus is God”. Worship of “man-Lord Jesus” has no Biblical basis. And more importantly, not commanded by God Himself in His own words, and not commanded by Jesus himself in his own words! Worship of “man-Lord Jesus” has been concocted by the “Master of the Bible” in the early days of the 20th century! Nowadays is the era of millennials! In the modern days, where the students of the “Master of the Bible” have been losing debates left and right!
