Famous Actors Who Died In The Middle Of Movie Filming

Here are some of the more well-known instances where productions had to deal with an actor's passing and how it affected the film.

Brandon Lee

While filming his movie "The Crow," Bradon Lee, the son of Bruce Lee, was killed in a stunt mishap. According to The Los Angeles Times, Lee was shot at while filming while carrying a grocery bag and passing through a doorway as another actor was shooting blanks at him from a distance of 15 feet. Later that day, at the age of 28, he passed away after being struck by a projectile in the lower abdomen.

Paul Walker

Paul Walker passed away in a violent vehicle crash in 2013 while filming the seventh installment of the Fast & Furious series.

The celebrity was traveling in a Porsche driven by Roger Rodas, who was doing around twice the speed limit, on his way home from a charity event when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a concrete pole and two trees. The movie's production was put on hold for several months.

John Candy

On March 4, 1994, one of Hollywood's most endearing comedians passed away suddenly. After a day of filming the Wild West comedy "Wagons East!" and a celebratory spaghetti dinner, John Candy returned to his hotel. The following morning, he had passed away from a fatal heart attack. Due to the late start of production, all that was required to finish the scene was a body double.

 

Vic Morrow

On the final day of shooting Twilight Zone: The Movie in 1982, Vic Morrow and two young performers, Renee Shinn Chen and Myca Dinh Le, passed away. When a helicopter pilot lost control and crashed into them, they died. In 1983, the movie was released.
