Friend suddenly died

Friend died suddenly

#LifeIsAOneWayTicket

I woke up this morning to a piece of news that left me feeling both regretful and heartbroken…

A female friend, only 46 years old, suddenly passed away two days ago. According to her family, everything seemed normal on the day of her passing. She slept in on Sunday, had a simple brunch, and sat in the living room scrolling through her phone and watching TV. Around 2 PM, she even smiled and said, “Work is so stressful these days, I haven’t been able to sleep well. I want to catch up on some sleep.” Little did they know, that sleep would be her last.

She was a very sunny, optimistic, and hardworking person. She was highly capable at work, always traveling all over Taiwan, seemingly with inexhaustible energy. No one could have imagined that her life would suddenly come to a halt on the most ordinary day.

These past few years, the repeated unpredictable events around me have constantly reminded me of one thing—what we think is “plenty of time” may not actually be that long.

I used to think, "I'll rest after this busy period; I'll travel after I've earned enough; I'll enjoy life after retirement; I'll spend time with family, see friends, and fulfill my dreams when I have more free time."

But does life really give us so many "wait-and-see" moments?

I often ask myself, why, after working so hard for most of my life, do I still feel insecure now that I could slow down? Is it because I always believe that if I work a little harder, do a little more, I can gain more security?

But what truly matters isn't how much work we've accomplished, but whether we've taken good care of our health; not how much money we've saved, but whether we've dedicated time to the truly important people.

So, go where you want to go; don't keep waiting for another day to see the people you want to see; don't keep the love you want to express hidden in your heart.

Because we never know which will come first, tomorrow or an accident.

May my friend rest in peace 🙏 And may everyone who reads this remember: The most important thing in life is not to struggle to survive, but to live well within the limited time we have 😇
