FUEL SCARCITY IN NIGERIA

FUEL SCARCITY IN NIGERIA

A well respected lecturer once told me that, "when a group of people are subjected under extreme poverty by the political class, they begin to see themselves as each other's enemy rather than fighting the political elite that created the artificial poverty" I won't lie to you, I argued with him.

I refused to agree with this assertion. I said to him that evil or wickedness is embedded in a man, he only needs the right circumstances to reveal what is already hidden inside of him. But I think, after seeing some horrible sight at different filling stations today, I might be shifting grounds. I am tempted to agree with what the lecturer said to me sometimes ago.

You needed to see how grown up men, with wives and children fighting each, engaging in physical combat just to get fuel for their vehicles. Every filling station I visited happens to be experiencing same scenario. Fuel has become so scarce now that even with your hard earned money, you may not be able to get any.

Now, innocent poor Nigerians are suffering due to the extreme wickedness of the people they called their leaders. Rather than the poor masses to start seeing the leaders as their enemy, they turned their anger on their fellow poor man, seeing him as the enemy while the real enemy enjoys in his mansion there in Abuja!
