Hesti Haris Leads Jambi’s PW BKMT for 2025–2030

Jambi — Hj. Hesnidar Haris, SE, widely known as Hesti Haris and serving as the Chairperson of the Jambi Provincial Family Welfare Movement Team (TP-PKK), has been elected as the Chairperson of the Provincial Board of the Badan Kontak Majelis Taklim (PW BKMT) of Jambi for the 2025–2030 term. Her election took place during the Fifth Regional Conference (Muswil V) of BKMT at the Auditorium of the Jambi Governor’s Official Residence on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The Muswil was attended by 27 voting members, consisting of 22 representatives from the District Boards and 5 from the Provincial Board, and was conducted in a democratic and transparent manner.

 

In her address, Hesti Haris described her new role as an opportunity to strengthen the synergy of Islamic preaching (dakwah), women’s empowerment, and regional development. Despite not having a formal academic background in religious studies, she expressed her commitment to advancing BKMT through cooperation with various Islamic organizations.

In addition to leading BKMT, Hesti also serves as the Bunda Genre (Ambassador for Youth Planning), Ibunda Guru (Education Mother Figure), Bunda PAUD (Early Childhood Education Ambassador), Chairperson of the Jambi Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda), and advisor to several women’s organizations. She called on all board members and participants to provide constructive feedback for the progress of BKMT as a platform for learning and spreading Islamic values.
