Can an SS2 Student in Nigeria Save ₦150,000 Before July? My Journey to Starting Nessa Beauty

My name is Judith, and I am an SS2 student living in Enugu. My dream is to save ₦150,000 before July so I can start growing my small beauty business, Nessa Beauty. I sell lip gloss and other small beauty items to my classmates, and I want to turn this little hustle into something bigger.

I don't want to engage in internet fraud or depend on my parents for every little thing. I want to earn money legitimately, learn how to manage it, and build something of my own while still focusing on school.

Here are three platforms I am exploring to help me reach my savings goal.

1. Lodpost: Earning Through Writing

I write articles and publish them on Lodpost. My goal is to improve my writing skills, create useful content, and earn from my work. However, earnings depend on the platform's rules, article performance, and eligibility requirements. Getting paid is not guaranteed simply because an article receives views.

2. Hawkit: Completing Small Online Tasks

Hawkit offers tasks that may include social media engagement and other online activities. I am exploring whether the available tasks can provide a little extra income. Before investing my time, I need to confirm the current withdrawal requirements, fees, and payment conditions.

3. Premise App: Surveys and Local Tasks

Premise offers surveys and location-based tasks in supported areas. Depending on availability, tasks may include answering questions or submitting photographs of places. Since task availability and payment options can vary, I will check which opportunities are currently available in Enugu before counting on this income.

My Savings Plan: Reaching ₦150,000

To avoid spending the money I earn, I plan to use OPay Target Savings if the available terms suit my needs. I want to save consistently instead of spending every little amount that comes in.

Here is the breakdown of my goal:

Target Amount
Total savings goal ₦150,000
Monthly savings over 6 months ₦25,000
Weekly savings over approximately 26 weeks About ₦5,770
Daily average over approximately 180 days About ₦834

These figures are examples of how I could divide the target, not a guarantee that the apps will provide enough income. I will need to track my actual earnings, school expenses, and business profits to see whether the goal is realistic.

Can I Really Save ₦150,000?

I believe it is worth trying, but I also understand that reaching ₦150,000 will require consistency and realistic expectations. Online tasks may not be available every day, and article earnings can fluctuate.

I also want to grow Nessa Beauty by reinvesting some of the profit from selling lip gloss and other beauty items. I will keep records of what I spend, what I sell, and how much profit I make. That way, I can understand which products my classmates want most.

My Question for You

Do you think an SS2 student can save ₦150,000 through legitimate online tasks and a small beauty business? What advice would you give someone my age who wants to become financially responsible while still concentrating on school?

I hope to share regular updates about my progress towards starting Nessa Beauty. Every small step counts, and I want to learn from other people's experiences along the way.

Disclaimer: Earnings from online platforms are not guaranteed. Always check the official terms, withdrawal rules, and privacy requirements before participating. Students should protect their personal information, avoid platforms that demand suspicious upfront payments, and discuss financial commitments with a trusted adult when appropriate.
