Our journey began 5/18/26
My husband of 26 years was showing all the signs of a person that experienced a stroke, I kept telling for weeks “your off babe, something is not right with you” his speech was way off, couldn’t make a clear statement, then he started spilling his coffee walking to the porch, driving down the right shoulder of the road on a vacation trip we took in April 26. He dips so a couple of times he spat on the floor of our home 😵. I knew then something was really wrong!. Called the adult kids in as reinforcements to make him go to doctor.
The next afternoon around 1pm he drove himself to Hospital leaving me behind… yup that pissed me off called daughter to come get me and to hospital we went. They hadn’t seen him yet, then they called him back. They asked him why he was there he said his family told him to come. lol
They observed him and ordered a CT and then that’s when we were told it’s a possibility that it a Glioblastoma. Surgery was performed 5/21-22/26
100% removel of both tumors.
Went home to heal for a month and to get insurance lined out for the expected treatments ahead.
So This morning we met with CARTI for his treatment consultation and what our next steps would be.
In the initial Pathology report it said Glioblastoma grade 4 IDH Wild Type with other genetic markers that is what was told to me by neurosurgeon‘s office a couple weeks after Terrys brain surgery.
This morning Terry, Myself, Shawnna & Lori Ann went to the appointment to hear consultation treatment plan…. After just sitting there waiting a short minute the oncologist comes in and greets us, and begins telling us about the extensive pathology that was done on the tumors he’s happy to tell us that what was thought to be a GBM(Glioblastoma) is a BENIGN TUMOR called Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) it is a rare, slow-growing, circumscribed glioma (a type of brain tumor) that usually develops in the cerebral hemispheres.
And that Terrys prognosis is very favorable and there will be NO need of radiation or chemotherapy 😮🙏🏽✋🏽at this time. Praise Jesus 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
All the Glory to our God who’s been walking this with us. My faith continues to be restored beyond measure. ✋🏽🙏🏽✋🏽🙏🏽✋🏽
Doc says it may not never grow back and if it does it can be treated with radiation but he will be regularly check with MRI.
