Hello Guys! Welcome to this second part of a story from a third-world country guy. Read the first part titled "I heard about the Flat Earth." I appreciate your patience. I know this kind of topic is not so acceptable for most of you, but bear with me and treat this as just a fiction story if you like. I'm sharing this because I'm trying to do this part-time, and I have ZERO knowledge and experience in Writing. This Article is just a training and personal sharing simultaneously, but all of the words here are from the bottom of my heart. All the comments here are from my personal experience and opinions, not necessarily factual. Having said that. Let's Begin.
My Arguments are Solid! Isn't it?
This Third Model made me turn into Debate-Mode, But I was not angry. As I said before, I'm the kind of person who likes to be my beliefs to be challenged with good points. Maybe because, before I discovered Flat Earth, I was pretty much aware of most deceptions that had happened in the past or are happening today. That makes my mind open and aware that lies and propaganda constantly attack our brains consciously and subconsciously.
Back to the story that day, My brain spent the whole day at work thinking of bulletproof, solid arguments against Flat Earthers. And I'm telling you, the moment I completed the list of my proofs, in my head, I felt like I was so intelligent and superior to them because how can a "thinking human" thinks that the Earth is flat? So, I don't think they have anything intelligent to say against the Spinning Globe Knowledge I'm about to fire them.
So here is the list of my solid arguments against the Flat Earthers that was in my head with my words as I thought of them, if I remember correctly:
- Ships and Boats disappear over the Horizon - "I will give you the basic and a simple experiment. Go to a beach and watch Ships or Boats moving away from you, and you will see their bottom parts disappear as they go away. And that's because they are going over and beyond the curve of our Globe Earth."
- Moon, Sun, and other Planets are Spheres - "Look up to the sky, what do you see? All spheres, right? So what made you think that the Earth is Flat? You are out of your mind!"
- Sunset - "Sun appeared rising and setting because we are on a Globe. If the Earth is Flat, we will always see the Sun and be in daytime."
- Coriolis Effect - "Do you know Snipers consider the spins of our Globe before shooting? Yeah! Look it up! It's called Coriolis Effect!"
- Circumnavigation - "I mean, checkmate Flat Earthers!"
- Eratosthenes' Experiment - "Erathosthenes proves Globe with the rods and shadows experiment long ago."
- Gravity - "You might ask, "Why we don't fall on a Spinning Globe?" Simple. It's called "GRAVITY," and that is that."
- Eclipses - "You see, when a Lunar Eclipse occurs, shadows of our Globe can be seen on the Moon, and it's circular. And how do you think Solar Eclipse occurs? It's the same! The Moon is covering the Sun!"
- Satellites and GPS - "You don't know satellites orbit our Globe, right? And GPS means "GLOBAL" Positioning System. Now you know, You are welcome!"
- Pictures And Videos of Spinning Globe from NASA and other Space Agencies - "Are you kidding me? We have already seen many pictures and videos of Earth given by NASA in our everyday life, and it's clear that we are on a spinning Globe! I know they messed up sometimes, but there is NO way they are faking all of these. And how about the other Space Agencies from other countries? Are they all working for NASA? You are crazy if you think that."
(Note: I have more Arguments against Flat Earthers, but I will only put the 10 of the most Arguments that a "REGULAR GUY from a third-world country that isn't that smart LIKE ME" will use. And I think I can't cover more than ten inside 2000 words.)
Now Let's talk about how my Arguments were destroyed by nobody but myself for digging deep into the Rabbit Hole. For me, this experience was exciting, painfully sad, and then happy at the same time. I know, I know, readers that are way smarter than me have better arguments like mathematics and calculations with letters and numbers combined in the equations, which people like me or most people will never understand if we are honest to ourselves.
Luckily, I didn't lose my natural commonsense to understand reality as it is, and I didn't give up my thoughts on Government Authority Figures and "Scientists wearing Labcoats." But don't get it wrong, I believe in Science, which I don't believe is Pseudoscience. A claim of something as Scientific that can never be proven in reality by doing observable and repeatable Scientific experiments is called Pseudoscience.
I thought I knew where am I.
Times flies, work is done, and I went home on fire, excited to destroy the enemies of Science. Of course, where to start better than the basic experiment that every thinking person can comprehend. Ships and Boats disappear over the Horizon and even the Cities' Skylines.
I thought that this alone was enough to shut down their beliefs. So I researched deep into their territory to find out their answers to this. Instead of engaging them in a Bloody Keyboard Battle, which will never end in a sensible conclusion, I just chose to watch and read their contents with a forcefully unbiased approach trying hard not to be triggered by these people.
As a regular guy from a third-world country, I thought this was good evidence because it's very straightforward. Things disappear from the bottom up because we are on a Globe.
It turns out that this thing can also happen on a Flat Earth due to multiple reasons: Perspective, Angular Resolution, and Refraction.
Ships and Boats don't disappear because they go "OVER" the Horizon. It's because they go "INTO" the Horizon that will eventually reach the vanishing point, which is the limitation of our naked eye's vision. I can't believe it gets me to that age to realize that we don't have superpowers to see infinite distances. And also, I can't believe that a Basic Super Zoom Camera will easily debunk my first Argument. Next time you are on a beach, watch ships or boats disappear on the Horizon, pull that Super Zoom Camera, Binocular, or Telescope out and bring those things into view again. Things will Diverge and Converge due to our Perspective.
I know this doesn't prove a Flat Earth, but it doesn't prove a Spinning Globe either because it can happen in both Models, but I'm frustrated because this is one of my best Flat Earth Destroyer.

That was a bad start for me, but I'll shrug it off and pretend that I have not started firing yet. A little bit frustrated with myself, I pulled out my Logical Argument that the Moon, Sun, and other Planets are Spheres, so why would the Earth be Flat?
I search for their answer and confidently believe that they will stumble in explaining this. At that time, I only searched for answers on Eric Dubay's old YouTube Channel because he was the one on top of the Flat Earth Community back then.
But basically, they said all the pictures of NASA and other Space Agencies are fake or Computer Generated Images (CGI). But I ignored that because I thought Flat Earthers were just in denial that they couldn't accept that "Science" was destroying their faith back then. Then I heard their Argument that "You can't tell what shape you are standing on by looking at the things above you!" In my head, I said, "what the hell? There are a lot of pictures of Earth that we are currently standing on, and it looks like a sphere like the Other Planets.
I will be honest. I thought I won this time because I was unaware at that moment of what NASA and other Space Agencies are all about. But for the sake of the Article, let's bypass the story a little bit. So instead, I will explain why this Logical Argument of mine got Logically destroyed.
May I ask you something? Where can we see a Spherical Planet with our own eyes? Sure the Moon looks Spherical to me, but are the other Planets that at the same category as Earth looks spheres? Or do they just look like twinkling lights in the sky when you look with the naked eye? And even Amature Telescope footages of the Planets are nowhere near what NASA and other Space Agencies are showing us.

There are many more Powerful Telescopes available in public. Perhaps it will capture more detailed Planets on video, but I can bet that nobody in public can personally see what NASA and other Space Agencies are showing. I use this video because it covers all 7 Planets.
The point is, We are not very sure ourselves what shape the objects in the skies we see unless we can touch them and go there. Check This Illusion and CLICK HERE!. Maybe somehow, it helps my point. We can't just trust somebody if we don't know something, especially a person or group caught lying several times. Hey, Hey, I'm not naming somebody or a group. I'm talking about it in general. Let's calm down and relax for a bit.
I must admit, I'm a little bit carried away writing this part, and I feel like I want to make this Article a Full-On Attack Against The Spinning Ball. But I'm not going to do that because I'm not a debater, and I can be easily intimidated by people who speak fast regardless of what they are saying.
Back to the topic. What makes me throw this Logical Argument of mine into the bin was the statement that "We can't tell that the Earth is a Sphere based on what shape the objects in the skies." But for this Argument's sake, let's say all of the things in the skies are Spheres. What does that have something to do with the thing we are on? I'm saying these in the present, knowing that there are no pictures of Earth from space and not from the views of my younger self, who is a NASA fanboy.

Back to the original story, at that time, I stopped pursuing this topic because I thought Flat Earthers were just out of their minds saying Pictures from Space are fake or just CGIs. So I proceed to my following Argument, thinking that I was victorious that round, at least at that moment. But this Argument will be put to rest soon when we are in my 10th bullet.
"Now it's all tied up at 1-1," I said in my head. Lock and loaded, I"m ready to fire my third bullet, which I called the "Visible Argument," Sunsets. I can't think of anything that explains Sunsets other than we are spinning backward away from the Sun. If we are on a flat non-rotating Earth, we should see the Sun and Moon and everything all the time.
This moment was the first time I seriously looked at the Third Model. I saw several different models. Some are ridiculous, some are decent, but what caught my attention was this one.
For some reason, It feels like I have seen this thing before, but I can't remember when and where. So I Googled it and realized why it looks familiar. Is it because this is the map in the logo of the United Nations (UN).
For a second, I was like, "WTF," but my Ego made me turn a blind eye. And instead, I researched more about this map to clear my boggled mind. And it worked! I cooled down, knowing that it was just a map projection called "Azimuthal Equidistant Projection." The UN just used it in their logo.
But on my way to closing browser tabs, I saw another image of a map pretty similar to the UN's logo. The "Gleason's New Standard Map of the World"
And It's old, yet it's new, if that makes sense. And it also says, "Scientifically and Practically Correct AS IT IS." So I assume they believe this map and most of the Flat Earthers subscribe to it. I'm just relieved that it's not the thing on the UN's logo. But I said it's the same thing in the back of my head, but 1 of them might have a tweaked or faked history.

I wanted to understand their model, so I looked it up first. Because I just want my Visible Argument unbeatable, and sure I think it is unbeatable knowing their Flat Earth Model. So I signed the contract and presented my evidence.
I found out that the Sun appeared to be setting or rising because of the same reasons why ships and boats disappear on the Horizon and more. It's all Perspective, Angular Resolution, and Atmospheric Deck of Opacity.
But first, in the Flat Earth Model, the Sun is NOT 150+ Million kilometers away and not as big as what "Science" told us. The Sun is Local and much smaller than the Earth. Like what we can see with our own eyes, the Sun and the Moon are about the same size.

I laugh at this then because they don't have any proof of this. But then I ask myself, do I have evidence of a Giant Sun about 400 times bigger than the Moon? My brain suddenly breaks down a little because I can't think of fast proofs that come to mind other than the Pictures provided by Space Agencies which Flat Earthers believes are Fake or CGI.
I take a smoke break outside because I feel so cornered that I can't give any proof that the Sun is a Giant Ball of Burning Gas. First of all, I'm not good at confronting others for a debate personally, so thinking of it makes me sweat and want to escape that topic because I just realized that my proof was just Images.
Outside I tried to debate and cheer myself up in my mind saying, "It's alright, you're not a Scientist. I'm sure Experts can give proof of it in a blink of an eye." But somehow, the real me said, "But if I can't give solid proof of it myself, what makes my arguments different from theirs?"
I "WAS" an Atheist back then. Hence, it made me uncomfortable because I felt like I was proving stuff that I had never experienced or seen with my own eyes, just what religious people would do. They will show Writings, Scriptures, Books, and Images like what I was about to do to prove the Giant Sun. Yes, I could see the Sun, But it looked the exact size of the Moon. Right? Come on now.

Smoking outside, thinking deep, my old Friend Moon is always ready for me. I look at it, and it does what every Bestfriends would make us feel with just their presence. It cheered me up because it reminded me of my Ultimate Argument. But I will reserve it for now because it's too early for that Ultimate. So I thanked my Friend Moon and went back inside with a rejuvenated "Science Spirit."
Calmed and collected, I gave them that point, and I continued searching for their answer about Sunset. And then Boom! I was blown away by some of the presentations and videos about how it can happen on a Stationary Flat Earth. It's Perspective, Angular Resolution, and Atmospheric Deck of Opacity guys.
Like these street lights appear to be getting lower and lower when we know that each of them is at the same height. It's just due to our Perspective. All things Diverge or Converge in our visions and eventually go beyond the Vanishing Point where our naked eyes can't see any longer.
That get's me. But I was not finished. I said, "How about the Sunsets' instances look like these? It's not going away!" Notice the picture on the right. The Sun is not yet touching the Horizon, yet it is already set.
They said, "It's just the Angular Resolutions of our eyes and the Atmospheric Deck of Opacity. And I said, "What the hell are you talking about?" I don't have any ideas because I have never heard these words, and they never teach this in our "Education" System.
So the picture on the left is caused by our eye's Angular Resolution. All you need is a clear and dry Atmosphere, and you can pull that entire Sun high into view with a Super Zoom Camera. But when it goes further, it will eventually disappear because I don't think such a camera can zoom infinite distances exists today.

After watching this, I panicked for a second, and I forgot that I was just talking to myself and not in a debate with somebody. I desperately threw a Hail Mary Punch to save my Argument this round and said, "What about this one? (the picture on the right when the Sun sets before it touches the Horizon)." I don't know how this follow-up question changes the fact that Sunset Illusion can happen on a Stationary Flat Earth. But I fire this bullet anyway for no apparent reason.
And they just quickly blocked it with the Atmospheric Deck of Opacity. Then again, I watched and read what this New Word I hear is all about.
So It's important to understand that our naked eyes have their limitations. We can't see infinite distances, and Super Zoom Cameras, Binoculars, and Telescopes can help us extend our visions just for some miles. But let's say tomorrow, the camera or something that can zoom infinite distances will be invented. Sad to say, we still never see unlimited distance ever unless we can invent optics that can penetrate Weather Phenomena. As of today, no such thing exists. An Infrared Camera is the closest, but that's enough.
Why is that? Because of what I said, Weather Phenomena exist, which include fog, mist, rain, storm, dust, clouds, winds, snow, etc., that blocks our views and we think we can see forever? Let's get real.
Pictures below show these phenomena are not getting any higher from the Deck of our Atmosphere, and it affects our view of the things we are looking at because of the Opacity of whatever blocks it. We called that Atmospheric Deck of Opacity. See what I did there?
I hope you get the point of how the picture of the Sun that sets before touching the Horizon happens. The Sun was too far and gave you the optical illusion that it sets on the Horizon, which is just our eye's Angular Resolutions, and it's just blocked by the thick Atmospheric Deck Opacity of our Stationary Flat Earth.
But hey, maybe I just making all of this stuff up. It's still better for interested readers to research for themselves and prove what's the reality to themselves, like what I did. I promise you it's fun!
But at that moment, it was not fun at all. I was so defeated, and to add to that, this Atmospheric Deck of Opacity killed two of my birds with one stone. Because despite my fired gun missed, I still had a knife to fight back, but it turned out that my knife was dull and rusty like this Everest Argument of mine.
It's a shame that a single Weather Phenomenon we called "Clouds" can melt this Everest Argument like an Ice Cube under the Sun. Because Clouds can easily block the direct Sunlight from our view, do you expect you will always see the Sun from Mt.Everest? That your visions can Penetrate the Atmospheric Deck of Opacity?
But I think I know why I thought of this Argument once because, In my head, I still picture the Sun as the Giant Burning Ball of Gas in Space, that's why. But once you break out from that beliefs, you will see that both Sun and Moon are Local and Smaller than Earth, as our Natural Common Sense tells us.

I was shocked. I didn't expect that these Flat Earthers would have something to say. And just like that, I notice that It's already midnight. I decided that I had enough for the day and finally retreated from battle and lived to fight another day. I lay down in my bed, looking at the ceiling, thinking about what just happened to my Solid Arguments, trying to calm myself by looking at the bright side and planning my next attack. I still have seven more arguments that can never explain if we are on a Stationary Flat Earth.
When I fell asleep, my last thought was, "There's nothing to worry about, The score is only 1-2, and my best bullets are still in reserve. But soon, I will realize that I just thought of that stuff to help me sleep that night.
And here I will end this second part of the story of the Regular Guy from a Third-world Country. I hope you enjoy reading it, and I will apologize again for the poor use of English. If only I were a Native English Speaker, I could finish these Articles a hundred times faster. I thought I could cover my list of 10 in 2000 words, but I'm already approaching 4000 now, so I will cut this short and will cover the other 3 in my next Article, and the last one will be on the fourth plus the Ultimate Argument that my friend Moon reminds me.
