Mom

Hi everyone. My mom was recently diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and we received her CT chest/abdomen/pelvis results today. We’re waiting to discuss everything with her oncologist, but I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

She hasn’t started chemo yet until August

Her CT showed:

* A single 7 mm solid, well-marginated nodule in the right lower lobe of the lung that was described as indeterminate. The radiologist recommended a repeat CT in 2–3 months to check for stability.

* No enlarged lymph nodes in the chest (including mediastinal, hilar, axillary, subpectoral, or internal mammary lymph nodes).

* No definite evidence of metastatic disease in the abdomen or pelvis.

* The known left breast tumor measuring about 1.8 cm with the biopsy clip in place.

* No liver lesions, no enlarged abdominal or pelvic lymph nodes, and no suspicious bone lesions seen on the CT.

Has anyone else had a single indeterminate lung nodule at the time of diagnosis that turned out to be benign? Did your oncologist continue with chemotherapy as planned while monitoring it, or did they recommend additional testing first?

We’re trying to stay positive, but the uncertainty about the lung nodule is understandably stressful. I would really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences while we wait to speak with her oncology team.
