Sugar

Many people become terrified of sugar after hearing that cancer cells love it.

I used to crave sweets too, but I was afraid to.

I wanted them so badly,

while telling myself, "No, what if it's bad for me?"

Some people even feel they can't eat what they like for decades.

For example, one netizen shared that they haven't touched seafood for decades, and life suddenly seems to have lost a lot of joy.

But I want to say that before I had cancer,

I had already stopped eating many things:

No plastic,

No processed food,

No sweetened drink,

No refined flour,

No artificial additives.

Focusing on anti-cancer foods sounds very healthy,

but when I was lying on the operating table,

I suddenly had a profound realization.

If a person does everything healthy because they're afraid of cancer, afraid of health problems,

that kind of pressure won't truly relax the body.

Because what the body feels isn't love,

it feels fear.

I'm not saying you can eat anything.

I'm not saying sugar is good.

It's just that health isn't something forced out of fear. Suppressing the urge to eat for too long

not only makes you unhappy,

but sometimes it can lead to an uncontrollable urge one day,

to eat more,

and then feel even more guilty.

So now, if I really want a bubble tea,

I'll find someone to share it,

just to satisfy that desire,

not to eat while being afraid.

Or if I start to feel guilty after eating,

I'll savor the pleasure of that one bite.

Once I've achieved that pleasure,

I'll stop.

This isn't indulgence.

This is clarity.

What I learned after cancer

wasn't to turn my life into a forbidden food list.

It was to learn to ask myself:

Am I eating this now,

because I genuinely want to enjoy it,

or because I'm escaping stress?

Am I not eating this now,

because I care for my body,

or because I'm afraid?

These two answers

have completely different energies.

True self-care

isn't about living with increasing fear,

it's about increasingly understanding

how to care for yourself with love. Cancer taught me that you shouldn't nurture your body with fear, but rather with awareness and love, to take care of it anew. ❤️
