At 36, I was reborn with breast cancer: this was the most painful year of my life.
Last December, my world collapsed. The diagnosis of breast cancer hit me so hard I could barely breathe.
What followed was a long battle: surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. I gritted my teeth, managing a small amount of work between treatments, trying to grasp at a sliver of a "normal life." But after returning to work in April, the real test began: my concentration wavered, my mood remained consistently low, and every night felt so heavy I could hardly breathe.
I knew I couldn't go on like this.
I began to save myself: frantically confiding in friends, seeking help from a professional psychologist, throwing myself into physical activity—running, tennis, yoga… Unconsciously, the heavy shackles loosened.
I lost weight, and I started to care more about my appearance (I heard this is a common "little secret" among young patients like us). I rediscovered the vibrant life force brought by the wind, sunshine, and sweat. I changed; I became more beautiful, more resilient, and more aware of the immense value of "the present moment."
I understand now: some difficulties may not be solvable immediately, but we can stop internal conflict. No matter how bright the future may be, let's plant the seeds today first.
Now, hard work is the foundation of my success, and sweating from exercise is proof of my love for life. I'm no longer afraid to dream: to see the aurora borealis in Antarctica, to walk in the deepest snow in Altay, to spend Christmas in New York, to daydream and relax in a small town in Yunnan… I want to continue being a radiant beauty, and to cherish and spend a long time with the people I love.
I just want to use my experience to tell you that no matter if you are going through illness, depression, or any darkest moment:
Please believe in your inner strength.
Please, a thousand times over, save yourself from this predicament.
Living in the present is not just a slogan; it's a path you walk.
If you are also in darkness, please hold on; the light is ahead.
