Has anyone experienced any jaw pain that required an EEG
I have not personally experienced this, but I would definitely let your care team know about it. Jaw pain can happen for a lot of different reasons. It could be something simple like clenching your teeth, stress, or a dental issue, but it can also be related to certain cancer treatments or medications. It is always worth getting checked so they can figure out what is causing it.
One thing I was wondering is if you meant an EEG, or an ECG. An EEG looks at brain activity and is not usually used to investigate jaw pain. If your doctor ordered one, they probably had a specific reason they wanted to rule something out. If you meant a different test, hopefully someone who has had the same experience can share what happened.
If your jaw pain started after beginning a new medication, definitely mention that to your oncologist. Some breast cancer treatments can cause joint or muscle pain, and in some cases doctors may also want to rule out dental problems before certain bone strengthening medications are given.
Try to keep track of when the pain happens, how severe it is, and whether it is worse when chewing, talking, or first thing in the morning. Those little details can really help your medical team narrow down the cause more quickly. I want to reach out and offer my support. Although I haven't gone through a diagnosis myself, my sister faced a similar situation of breast cancers and found a valuable resource that helped her navigate her journey. Her oncologist recommended the book 'The Steady Path Through Breast Cancer' by Dr. Alex Michael , available on Amazon. It provided her with a deeper understanding of the treatment processes, guidelines and friendly recipes. And now she is free of cancer I thought it might be helpful to share this resource with you.i highly recommend checking it out . Sending you love, support, and prayers during this challenging time. xxx"
I hope you get some answers soon. It can be unsettling when a new symptom appears, but most of the time there are several possible explanations, and it is always better to ask and have it checked than to sit and worry. I hope you are feeling better soon.
