God bless

I just realized many people should know this. While fighting metastatic breast cancer I found out that there are many groups that help cancer patients.  Look into The American Cancer Society or ACS, social workers through your insurance. I have Clover and they're connected to Thyme. They've been immensely helpful. Grants and financial assistance is out there. Research your cancer under grants or assistance. Breast Cancer gets help through the Susan B. Coleman Foundation. I received a grant from the Susan Lucciano Foundation,  which my social worker at the John Theurer Cancer Center applied for me.The ACS offers Road to Recovery which gives you transportation to and from cancer appointments and treatment.  There is even an organization called Lasagna Love that has volunteers bake a lasagna for you. They also do this if you have lost a loved one,  or are sick for any reason. The last lady bought us a large homemade lasagna,  Italian bread and  a cake for dessert.  That was above and beyond.  If you have a pet the American Cancer Society will send you an application to receive money for vet care, and pet supplies. Check with your social workers at your Cancer Center. Mine at John Theurer Cancer Center even makes copies or faxes for me during my chemo appointments if I need to apply for help any  where. She's given me Shop Rite gift cards in the past to help with food. She gave me a wig yesterday and my social worker at Clover Health insurance and Thyme did a 3 way call to the Cancer Society.  They are having a shop in Paramus NJ call me back. She's arranging transportation for me to pick out my free wig. I received two gift cards today for Shop Rite of sizable amounts from an anonymous organization called Impact. Totally unexpected.

There is help out there. People care. You just have to research,  make the call and a lot of these organizations also refer you to others.

I've been so blessed with caring people that I  realized it was selfish not to inform others who might not know or who are ashamed to ask for help. It's out there to get you through this rough time in your life. A lot of these people have been in the same situation or have had family members suffer from illness such as the terrible Big C.

I can try to answer questions if you have any. Just ask and you will receive help in abundance.

Love you all!  Especially my dear friends who have been so supportive through prayers and encouragement. God bless you all
