First chemotherapy visit

Tomorrow is my first chemo and immunotherapy visit. Please let me know what to expect. I know everyone reacts differently so there may be several views on this but I am a planner and really don’t like not knowing what to expect. The only thing I have been told is to dress warm, bring snacks and something to do. I am so nervous and haven’t been able to sleep leading up to this.
Every center is probably different, but I check in and wait to be called back for labs and they get my temp. Blood pressure, and temp then I go back to the lobby and wait to be called back to see my oncologist, then when I’m done with him I go to the infusion room and get my chemo or maintenance therapy (what I’m on right now). I go tomorrow too. Be sure to bring a blanket, they will give you one but I like having my own from home, hard candies to suck on (Jolly rancher is my favorite), snacks, crossword puzzle, chargers, I take my heating pad because I don’t always get a heated chair. Kleenex because my nose stays running. Chapstick for my dry lips I always seem to have and I keep barf bags and masks in my backpack. I hope tomorrow goes well for you! I always felt my worst day 3-5 so be easy on yourself and allow your body to rest and heal.
My experience, I choose to go alone and work on coloring and sudokus while listening to music. I was there for about 2.5 hours each time. I was on TC. I was never cold through treatment. I dressed comfortably and brought a blanket. I brought coffee and water with yogurt and fruit to snack on.

The first and next day I felt fine. Weird taste in my mouth quickly. Then the next week and half I experienced diarrhea, stomach pains, fatigue and no appetite.

Good luck!
