Docetaxel chemo

Hi , I have HER2 positive breast cancer and started neo adjuvant chemo in July. My biggest tumour was 5cm and wasn't detected on any mammogram before or after scans and biopsies. Two rounds of EC and the tumour wasn't getting any smaller (like you I kept feeling it in disbelief) so the oncologist sent me for an ultrasound. Surprise surprise the tumour hadn't shrunk at all so I was immediately taken off the EC and moved onto the planned Paclitaxel and Phesgo injections. The large tumour started to shrink straight away and the smaller satellite ones disappeared. I could only manage 10 of the 12 Paclitaxel. My breast is small and the amount of cancer large so I had a mastectomy last week. I await the pathology results but more chemo and radiotherapy is likely once I've healed. Wobbles are very much the norm and necessary for you to release the tension. It's a long journey you're on, I've been there and it isn't easy is it, but we get through it.

Hello

In response to your question ! Yes, I have had 100 % effectiveness with neo adjuvant chemo - I had 4 rounds of EC and 7 rounds and final 8th round this Thursday of Doxetacel, I was informed by my Oncologist on Friday that they couldn't see any cancer cells where my clip was inserted back in July.  I still have to have my final round of Doxetacel and decide what surgery to have, as there may be tiny cells there... so I am searching this forum about decisions about what surgery to have after being told this outcome.  So turn the poison into medicine and stick with the chemotherapy I am feeling good right now!!!!  Good luck with treatment.
