Be optimistic

I had a follow up with a dr. I was curious if one of the issues I was having was a side affect from radiation. I wasn’t sure if I was wording it properly so, I tried it again. He quickly cut me me off and said, “no” and turned to walk away. Now I felt humiliated, shocked and confused. So, holding those emotions in, my voice waved a little, I looked at the nurse for validation so she asked the doctor in a different way. He was annoyed, turned around and rephrased the question the way he heard it. Made me feel less than. I got Cristian’s he looked at the nurse and told her to put “hostile” in my file and left the room.

I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction at the end of May. I feel like it was the best decision I could have made. Having one surgery and then possibly another one sounded miserable to me. It was a long surgery but mine went very smoothly. Recovery was not terrible for me. I mainly took a muscle relaxer with Tylenol for the pain. I came home with 3 drains. They are more annoying than anything. At week one post op they took out one of the drains. At week 2 post op, they removed the other 2. Stay positive, it's not as bad as you think.

Yep…I wasn’t when I walked in but sure was after he walked out!
