Results from my biopsy today.
The biopsy, done last Friday, and the ultrasound, mammogram showed that I had a 4 cm tumor right over the location of my last breast cancer.
Today I got a call from the radiology center, and they said it’s a benign tumor ( fatty necrosis from last surgery). The radiology supervisor called me and I asked that the tissue be looked at again. I then told the supervisor I found this lump recently and I that 13 years ago I had breast cancer no biopsies since, and now this is a large tumor (4cm), over the cancer site that I felt recently ( all mammograms were negative since my last cancer).
I am concerned that there might be a mistake.
I’m going to make an appointment with my oncologist and see what she has to say but I think that there was a mistake here.
It was recommended that I come back in six months. I’m relieved to know that I’m in the clear but I think that there is a piece of the puzzle missing. I guess I just need confirmation from my oncologist.
Thank you Karen ~ I’m making an appointment on Monday with my oncologist surgeon and see what he recommends.
I spoke with the Doctor who did my biopsy as I had asked for the tissue to be re-examined and he said labs don’t do that. He recommended the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard was his recommendation that I have a lumpectomy without a definitive diagnosis. Maybe that’s not ridiculous but I don’t know I’m not a doctor.
Thank you Michelle ~ I will call my former oncologist on Monday and make an appointment.
There also was another comment on this mammogram that there could be other suspicious tumors because the tissue is dense, and 3-D does not detect all tumors. I guess that’s kind of in the back of my mind.
Any suggestions… ??
