Meal train

Sorry for the rant but this is more of a heads up and please be better prepared for your safety, sanity and security.

Trust your gut and instincts if you are feeling like you’re nesting it’s because you’re.

You’re about to go through something just as big as childbirth because it’s a surgery you will be recovering from and live with for the rest of your life so set yourself self up to have a successful recovery.

I nested and got to preoccupied with a project as my surgery date was nearing instead of making sure my adult kids knew what to expect and put meal plans into place, making sure someone had a duty like laundry and dishes.

My husband is great and all but a caregiver not so much he works he works all the time and when he’s not he’s like rushing to help me.

Nothing feels shitter than someone trying help and not coming from a place of love and attention but stress and being annoyed they have to stop what they are doing. It sucks.

So my advice as I sit here still recovering from a bilateral lumpectomy that had some complications is to prep meals clean more of your clothes and towels and linens you want in advance.

No brainer stuff but life gets challenging and if you have to rely on others it can be a bummer.

My son set up a Meal Train great concept and all but for someone in my case it’s like feast or famine in our home prior to cancer these funds get tax’s and fees taken out and don’t get released right away and weirdly at 9pm not in the morning when someone could go shopping for you also there now is a total amount due to 5 ppl donating money but each transaction comes in separately so 24hr wait period as small amounts get paid out.

Not the most helpful when you ran out of food and people are trying to help you get food asap while in recovery.

This has been a trying time for me and my family and wish you and yours the best possible outcome to these somewhat simple solutions.
