The Frighteners 19/7/1996 is only the Final Cut of the movie without the 17-18 deleted scenes. It's not the original full version
the original full version was firstly released on the dvd disc then they had even made the full uncut version (14/12/2005, "Peter Jackson director cut") and put a lot of better "making of" into the 2005 dec 14 one
i watch this movie because my idol is actor of Frank Bannister and I am not the only one who watch this film because of him.
there are some people who support Johnny depp said Johnny depp can act better on Frank bannister without knowing why zemeckis chose Michael Andrew fox be Frank bannister
on page 286-287 in "lucky man (2002)", Michael wrote that he went to New Zealand in April 1995 to September 1995 for Frighteners and USA time and New Zealand time is totally different that when they woke up everyday there it's New Zealand night time and they have to use the night dark sky to take film in frighteners so that is why it's only dark night and almost no bring morning on that movie.
in 287, Michael said that Robert zemeckis find him one day in 1995 or even 1994. Said he had not met fox for long time . And fox had not shown up for ages
zemeckis said to him, he is his great fans . He is his idol . Frighteners is specially tailored for Michael j fox
he said when he see him in back to the future 1 or 2. He became fox fan . But when fox act the back to the future 3 neck hang scene and almost died and got diagnosed with Parkinson's , zemeckis started to realise that fox is only human like all of us - not a holy saint .

he want fox star (starring) because fox had vanished for years due to parkinson
fox had to accept
that is why frighteners Frank bannister is fox

it's worth it
I am fox fans since back to the future
now I love frighteners movie more than back to the future .
