Veteran storyteller, folksinger, Jimi Solanke dies at 82

Renowned Nigerian storyteller, folksinger, and actor, Jimi Solanke, has passed away at the age of 82. Solanke was known for his captivating storytelling skills and was often hailed as one of Nigeria's greatest traditional storytellers.

Born on June 30, 1943, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Solanke had a deep passion for the arts from a young age. He began his career as a teacher and later transitioned into the entertainment industry, specializing in folk music and storytelling.

Throughout his career, Solanke delighted audiences with his soulful singing and compelling narratives. He was highly respected for his rich voice, engaging stage presence, and ability to captivate listeners with his stories.
