WHAT BROUGHT NIGERIANS HAPPINESS ALSO BROUGHT THEM SADNESS.

 

      In the 80's there was an award given to extraordinary people in different fields of life/work, be it literary works, engineering or other fields. The award was named THE NOBEL PRIZE. The person who created and gives this award is Alfred Nobel and he was also the one who invented dynamite. 

     In 1986, the remarkable Professor Wole Soyinka broke the record as he becomes the first Nigerian to collect the Nobel prize. In no time, the news was everywhere and every Nigerian was proud to have originated from Nigeria but less did they know that what brought them happiness will soon bring them sadness. 

     In three(3) days, the dynamite that was invented by Alfred Nobel was soon used to make what Nigerians know as LETTER BOMB which they delivered to the popular and most honest journalist at that time. Who was known as Dele Giwa and this incident alone brought Nigerians sadness. 

      Alfred Nobel was the one who gave Professor Wole Soyinka the Nobel Prize and it was his invention that was used as an instrument for the assasination of the Prestigious Journalist Dele Giwa.
