If somebody offer you ₦1 billion every week, you go reject am?

Na that exact question Victor Osimhen answer when Saudi giants Al-Hilal come for am. Dem no offer am small money. Dem offer am money wey fit change him family generation.

But Osimhen say NO. Why?

This no be about greed. Na business decision.

THE OFFER WEY SHAKE EVERYWHERE

Al-Hilal first come with €30 million per year - that one alone na about ₦1 billion per week for Osimhen.

When e no gree, dem increase am. Dem table a 3-year deal worth €120 million in total just for salary alone.

Later reports talk say dem push am to €35 million per year, and even up to €40 million per year.

For Europe, Osimhen dey collect around €12m - €15m per year for Galatasaray. For Saudi, e for collect 3 times pass that one.

Any normal person for accept. Osimhen no accept.

WHY HE REJECT AM? 3 BUSINESS REASONS

1. Champions League Dream Still Dey

Osimhen still dey 27. E never win Champions League. E never play for Premier League.

If e go Saudi now at 27, big European clubs go forget am. E know say him value for Europe still dey high. To go Saudi now na to close that door early.

2. Brand Value Pass Salary

For Europe, Nike, Pepsi and other big brands dey pay am because e dey play for big stage every week for TV.

For Saudi, salary go big, but brand deals go drop. People no dey watch Saudi league like Champions League. Osimhen understand say him face value for Europe dey worth more than extra salary for Saudi.

3. Future Money Bigger Than Present Money

If e stay for Europe 2-3 more years, play Champions League, win trophies, him next contract go still big - maybe from Chelsea, Man United, or PSG.

If e go Saudi now, e go collect big money once, but e no go get that same big European contract again. Na short-term money vs long-term money.

Osimhen choose long-term.

THE NAPOLI WAHALA TOO

No be only Osimhen side be problem. Napoli still hold him release clause of €75 million. Al-Hilal offer €65 million + €5 million add-ons, Napoli say No, pay full clause or nothing.

So even if Osimhen gree, club and club never agree. That one still show say the deal no pure.

LESSON FOR YOUNG FOOTBALLERS AND BUSINESS PEOPLE

Osimhen teach us one big finance lesson:

No be every big money be good money.

Sometimes to reject ₦1 billion per week now na to make ₦3 billion per week later. Patience na also investment.

E no reject because e hate money. E reject because e understand him own value.

CONCLUSION

Osimhen no be poor man wey reject money because e no need am. Na businessman wey know say him career na company.

And for now, that company still dey for Europe.

If Saudi come back with €50m per year later, will he still say No? Time go tell.
