More details about the reasons River Governor Nyesom Wike skipped a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathering in Osun State have come to light.
Wike's absence from the ceremony was generally reported to be the result of his disagreement with the party's 2023 presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar.
Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, a PDP veteran and former member of the House of Representatives, said that the governor may have chosen not to attend the Osun rally because of unsolved disputes inside the party.
Nwuke stated:
"The fact is, you are aware that there are problems in the PDP that have not been fixed. Wike loves to party, that much is evident, but you don't expect him to show up when the weather is iffy.
Wike, according to a second trustworthy source, has not yet arrived home from a trip overseas.
"You understand that everyone will be aware if Governor Wike is in Nigeria. However, after witnessing his son's graduation ceremony in the UK last week, he has yet to return home.
