Adeleke clears Osogbo, Takes early lead in #OsunDecides2022.

The incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola was beaten by Ademola Adeleke, the PDP's nominee for governor, in the crucial precinct that encompasses the state's capital, Osogbo Local Government Area. 

Mr. Adeleke received 30,401 votes out of the 54,997 ballots cast in the Osogbo LGA, while Mr. Oyetola received 22,952 votes for the governing All Progressives Congress. 

55,942 votes were cast during the election on Saturday in Osogbo LGA. There had been 945 invalid votes. 

Mr. Adeleke had won by a landslide in his voting district. Results for Polling Unit 09, Ward 02, Abogunde, Ede North LGA, were released early in the day; 218 votes went to the PDP, while only 23 went to the APC. Additionally, Additionally, Mr. Oyetola defeated Mr. Adeleke in Iragbiji, Boripe LGA, by clearing his voting district. 

Security agencies, in particular the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, cracked down on party agents over voter inducement after both parties allegedly offered incentives to voters at the polls. 

The election monitoring organization YIAGA Africa had earlier stated that PDP and APC agents had been observed bribing voters with cash amounts between N2,000 and N5,000 in various voting places. 

Yiaga noticed that party officials positioned themselves by the voting booth in Ward 01 of Ife North's PU 009, Akinlalu Commercial Grammar School, to examine how voters marked their ballots. PDP agents were observed in Osogbo's PU 003 handing out between N2,000 and N5,000 to encourage voters while standing in front of the Olomu Mosque.

Although the majority of the results are still expected, Mr. Adeleke is in the lead according to early results from Ede, Osogbo, and other areas of the state.
