AGRICULTURE is a major form of human activity in any economy, it is a major employer to labour,a major source of food supply for human beings and animals and a major source of raw materials for secondary industries.
Factors affecting agriculture
1.Climatic factor: The important climatic elements to consider here are temperature, rainfall and winds.All plants require some amount of heat and water rather the crops may not do well.
2.Relief factor: some crops do better on hill-slopes, some on lowlands or plains and others in swampy areas.
3.Soil -factor: Different crops require different types of soil e.g groundnut does well on sandy soil.In general, crops require fertile soils.
4.Diseases: The areas being farmed should be free of diseases and insect-pests.
