The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) presidential candidate and former vice president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, declared on Friday that he is the best person to support for the presidency in the 2023 election.

Although he has not yet traveled to see "Obj," as Obasanjo is affectionately known, he claimed to have kept in touch with the former president of Nigeria.
Obasanjo claimed he no longer engages in party politics.
When asked if he needed Obasanjo's backing, Atiku responded, "Why won't I need his backing? He used to be my boss. Why won't I require his assistance? I will undoubtedly require his assistance. I believe I possess it.
Between 1999 through 2007, when Obasanjo was in office as president, Atiku served as Nigeria's vice president.
Since his political debut in 1989, Atiku has run unsuccessfully for president of Nigeria five times: in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019.
