*TITLE:* 5 Simple Ways to Save Money as a Student in Yaoundé (Tested and Working)
*ARTICLE:*
Being a student in Yaoundé is not easy. Rent, transport, food, and photocopies — money always finishes before the month ends. I have been there, and I found 5 tricks that really saved me.
*1. Cook on Sunday, Eat the Whole Week*
Instead of buying bread + sardine every day for 1000F, go to Mokolo or Mfoundi market on Sunday. With 5000F you can cook rice, ndole or eru that will last you 4 days. I saved more than 15,000F per month just with this.
*2. Use Night Bundles and Save Data*
Don't pay 500F for data every day. MTN and Orange have night bundles — 200F for 2GB from 10pm to 6am. Download all your notes, YouTube videos and movies at night. During the day, turn on data saver mode. Your money will last.
*3. Join a Small Student Tontine*
Find 4 serious friends. Each person puts 2000F per week. Every week, one person takes 10,000F. It forces you to save and you can buy something big (mattress, phone, table) without borrowing. This is how I bought my first study table.
*4. Sell a Small Skill With Your Phone*
Can you write? Can you edit photos? Can you clean a house very well? Post on your WhatsApp Status: "I write CVs for 1000F", "I edit professional photos for 500F". Even 2 clients per week = 8000F per month. You don't need capital, just your phone.
*5. Walk When You Can and Take the Blue Bus*
If your campus is less than 2km away, walk. It is good for health and you save 200F x 2 every day. For long distances, the university blue bus is 100F instead of 250F for taxi. In one month, you save 6000F.
*Final Word:*
You don't need to earn 100,000F to save money. Start small. If you apply just 2 tricks from this list, you will have at least 10,000F extra at the end of the month.
Which trick do you already use? Tell me in the comments and share this with a friend who is struggling as a student.
