This chapter discusses the literature related to the factors influencing Rural development society participation in development projects as Isolated and Undeserved village development project in Vavunatheevu Division. It endeavors to identify the existing gap from the previous studies in relation to the current study. The review was done in accordance with the Society participation variables under study. This included literature related to concept of society, Community participation, Society participation in development project and socio-economics factors.
