Deepest Love Poem

From the moment you walked into my life,

From the moment you called me

I felt the piercing light,

A sincere reflection

Infiltrating into my dull thoughts

When I beheld the Son of God nailed to the cross,

I just thought who could be this,

As selfless as He is,

This moment so dear,

The love of God so near

He always dwells in my heart

Everyday

A true friend in equal measure

Not just a lovely name to treasure

Pharisees, Pharisees and Pharisees!

What has He done to deserve this?

Why do your hearts loathe with hatred,

When He rebukes your apostasy and hypocrisy

Memorising the scriptures in vain

Breaking the iceberg with a thousand reasons

Fasting in atonement seasons

When love is the only thing you need

Why do you teach what you can't do?

A pharisee I seem to be,

He looks at me in a grin

But His love never halts, even when I sin

I feel just fine, when you call me thine...

When my tears endlessly flow

And my years waste away

He renews me everyday

He creates me a better day

He fights my battles each day

Beneath the twinkling ray
