There are so many factors which affects the normal menstrual cycle in women,for instance we have stress, lifestyle, birth control pills, premature ovarian insufficiency, dieting, physical illness and change in environment.
Physical illness can affects your period in so many ways,for a example a bad cold or flu may be enough to throw your period off that particular month.Also major illness can certainly cause a woman to skip her period.
Dieting may interfere with gonadal steroids production,thus causing disturbances of the menstrual cycle,and therefore women are advised to maintain and eat a well balanced diet.Change in environment can also leads to a change in dieting and again stress.Hormones are sensitive to stress and these will change throughout the menstrual cycle.
Finally we have birth control pills and premature ovarian insufficiency.Premature ovarian usually occurs in women under the age of 40 whose ovaries do not function normally,in this situation menstrual cycle stops
similar to that of birth control pills prevent pregnancy by keeping the ovaries from releasing eggs,and they usually contains hormones that can tampered with menstruation.
