God's Religion

GOD’S RELIGION

Religion is a thorny issue in the lives of many. We feel that other people should worship the way we do. Which leaves the question begging: what is God’s religion?

Of course we understand that God cannot be assigned a particular religion because of the simple reason that God is the object of worship. Therefore let me rephrase my question: what religion does God like? Which kind of worship does God like?

Does God like Christianity? Islam, Buddhism, Traditional African Religion?

Talking of Christianity, with its millions of denominations, which denomination does the Supreme One love and is fond of? Do Seventh-Day Adventists find more favour in His eyes? What about Catholics? Pentecostals?

None of these appeal to God because of the simple reason that all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

The question still stands: what religion does God like? The answer to this is not in religion, nor is it in denominations. It is found in the book of John 4:23, which says:

“But the hour is coming, and now is here, when the true worshippers will worship              the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship                          Him.”

As an individual, avoid pretense; avoid showing off; worship the Father in truth and in spirit.
