Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun state and the APC's candidate in the recently held state gubernatorial elections, has urged his supporters and constituents to maintain composure in the wake of his defeat.
The reticent governor claimed to be reviewing the results of the governorship election as they were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday.
Oyetola asked his followers to maintain calm and urged security personnel to make sure there is no breakdown in law and order in the state in a statement released by his media assistant, Ismail Omipidan, on Sunday.
But he added that the party would react appropriately after reviewing the findings and speaking with important party stakeholders.
"I am urging on our supporters to maintain their composure, and the people of the State to go about their daily lives without hindrance or interference," he continues.
In order to prevent a breakdown in law and order, I also implore security personnel to maintain it.
