In the Oworonshoki area of Lagos State, Mrs. Abigail Popola, a restaurant owner, has never been mindful of the meat sellers she purchases her beef from at Iyana Oworo, New Garage in the Oworonshoki area to avoid crippling her food business.

The 48-year-old woman who runs her business in the Gbagada region of the state shared that procuring beef for her operations often presents significant issues. Her worries stem from the fact that some meat is not only prepared in unsanitary and unclean slaughterhouses, but also transported to the markets using dilapidated, broken-down vans that could potentially infect the meat with bacteria.
