Insecurity And Nigeria's 2023 General Election
A state of fear, feeling of anxiety and being exposed to danger is known as insecurity, and Nigerian as a country has been terrorized by the menace of insecurity.
Terrorism and banditry have displaced so many people in the Northeast, Northwest and Northcentral, these people are known as the Internally Displaced Person's IDPs who lived in camps and totally abandon their homes and communities due to fear of been attacked.
Nigeria's 2023 general election will definitely draws the attention of the world for it will be distrupt by the high level of insecurity in the country.
A strong reason why insecurity will be a setback in 2023 polls is that a lot of Nigerian citizens who have been displace either by insecurity and other phenomena,
also many have misplaced their Voters Cards (PVCs), while it is believed that it's impossible to recreate their constituencies and polling units because they no longer live in their constituencies.
The uncountable number of IDPs and the agonizing level of insecurity most especially in most populated regions in Nigeria will cripple the polls,
because an eligible voter who wants to vote will have to be in his polling unit with his voters card and this must be in the constituency where he or she registered his or her name.
In Nigeria many people have abandoned their constituencies and cannot present theirselves in their units while some have lost their PVCs.
Polling units in IDP camps can be created but it will be hard to follow up the large number of persons who have relocated to different part of Nigeria.
For Nigeria to have a successful and credible general elections come 2023
security agencies must try their best to reduce or totally put to stop the high level of security challenges that has eaten deep into the system, Internally Displaced Person's IDPs,
who lost their homes and love one's should be given appropriate security so that they can participate in the election processes without fear of being attack.
