Music is not only entertaining but also carthartic and therapeutic .We can't deny the fact that we listen to music every other day of our lives.on the streets ,
at home, hotels etc.We have our specific liking to a certain type of music .Rap music, hiphop, dancehall, soul, jazz, pop and others. We choose to listen to music as a way of relaxing ,entertainment or even passing time.
Life sometimes hits us with challenges and problems that are not within our control.Situations become unbearable and we end up being stressed which leads to anxiety and depression.
We tend to isolate ourselves from social settings .We feel like nobody understands or no one can help in our situations. Sometimes its toxic masculinity for the men. They feel they have to deal with it like a man .
We look for other ways to get our minds off our problems .Some people opt for drugs like bhang which makes us high and you are completely, as they say,
out of this world or alcohol to avoid being sober .These are terrible ways since they can lead to bankruptcy, withdrawal, addiction etc .They do not solve anything at all instead they add to the problems already in existence.
Each type of music has a message .Some that align with our situations and speaks about our problems. some are encouraging others are not. we can therefore choose the type of music that encourages us from our favorite genres.
They can help us get through .When you dig deep into the inspiration behind these songs you will realize that artists are ordinary people who face challenges just like us some far worse than ours.
They choose to sing to express themselves through music which eases their burden of having to keep it all inside. We can choose with the right type of music ,not necessarily gospel music, to fight our depression and anxiety. We can also add praying to the list.
Sometimes we need someone to talk to but not people .Humans are religious beings in nature. We can just talk to God without the fear of being judged. Its therapeutic to talk it out it eases the weight off our chest.
