NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has remembered the victims of the October 20, 2020, Lekki Toll Gate shootings as Nigeria marks the sixth anniversary of the #EndSARS protests.

Obi described the tragedy as a painful reminder of the price Nigerian youths paid in their demand for a better country, stressing that the nation must never forget the lives lost and the need for justice, accountability, and respect for human rights.

He called for a Nigeria where citizens are protected rather than brutalised, young people are heard rather than silenced, and nobody is punished for demanding good governance and a better future.

As Nigerians remember the victims, Obi reaffirmed his belief that a better nation is possible, where every citizen’s life matters and such a tragedy is never repeated.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

A New Nigeria Is Possible.
