REACH OUT!!
So, your friend just withdraws from you or from your clique you once shared or belong together as friends.
And suddenly, the first thing that comes to mind is that the person has pride.
“Erm...maybe he or she has found better friends.” " maybe, we no longer fit into her standard"
Really? That’s what you think?
You didn’t try to ask why the sudden withdrawal. You just assumed and you withdrew from the person too.
Have you tried reaching out?
Do you know if the person is dieing in side?
Do you know what the person is battling with?
Do you know if that withdrawal is the person’s way of trying to find himself or herself?
Do you know if isolating is the only way they know how to cope?
I know it’s not the best way, but not everyone easily opens up to people.
I’m saying this because I’ve been there. Lol. I can relate so well. It’s funny now, but it wasn’t funny then.
There was a time I was battling with a lot, and I had to withdraw from people, including people I was close to. Thank God for some of the good people who noticed and reached out and I was better again. I couldn't open up, which is wrong. But I just couldn't. I was finding it very hard to open up. Imagine they didn't and they were assuming that it was pride. I don't know what would have happened. I really don't know, but thank God they reached out.
I now open up to people now though. Just a few trusted people.
So instead of assuming it’s pride, reach out.
Reach out. Don’t assume.
If you reach out and the person doesn’t respond or open up, then at least you know you tried. It simply means the person doesn’t want the friendship anymore. But please, reach out and find out first. Don't assume or follow the" if you don't talk to me or I won't talk to you either" Ahh! Please oo.
If you still value the friendship, reach out.
If you love the person as you claim, reach out.
If that person is truly your friend as you claim, you wouldn't assume it's pride, you will reach out.
Stop assuming.
You could help the person feel better when you do.
