Reasons that led to the downfall of Yahoo

Jerry Yang and David Filo founded Yahoo in 1994 both were Stanford Graduates. It was a developed website listing or a directory to other sites as a search index.

The word "YAHOO" is an acronym for Yet Another Hierarchical Organized Oracle. It rapidly grew in the 90s and was destined to become a high profile company.

But in the dawn of 2000s it started a decline as it had made huge profits especially through advertising. Here are the reasons.

  1. Yahoo refused to buy Google for $1million.
  2. It's because they wanted users to spend more time on their own platform.
  3. Failed to buy Facebook for a billion dollars. Yahoo offered Facebook the money but that same day Facebook owners had a second thought and declined the offer.
  4. Failed accusations like Geocities which failed to deliver to the company and was shut down in 2009.

These are just some of the many reason this trch giant fell.
