According to reports from Franktalknow, an accident that happened early on Tuesday at Alaro City, Epe, Lagos State has been reported to have killed sixteen people.
On Monday, Bisi Kazeem, a spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the accident to Franktalknow.
Out of the 16 victims, nine, according to Kazeem, were burned beyond recognition.
A Toyota automobile and a truck were believed to have been involved in the collision.
It happened along a detour near a construction site at around 3 in the morning.
Two of the 23 people who were engaged in the mishap managed to escape unharmed, according to Corps Commander Kazeem.
Five more people were hurt and were transferred to a general hospital.
The FRSC stated that efforts are being made to remove the barriers for vehicles movement.
