How convenient is it to be tall? As in, is it a good thing to be tall?

Tallness has its advantages. One can reach some places where others can’t without using some accessories like ladders. They can also play some games like basketball and volleyball without sweating it out jumping to dunk or spike. And they can have as many girlfriends as they can handle. And, in some countries, one will always be assured of jobs in the army or related outfit. But is it cosy all the way being tall?

Tallness has many challenges that many people do not know of. There is the clothing challenge, for instance. It is very difficult to get ready-made clothes that fit. This is especially bad with the tall-thin.

When it comes to beddings, tallness becomes a disadvantage. Many beds are six feet long. Mattresses too are of the same length. How do they expect a nine-foot tower of a man to sleep therein?

Shoe-ware poses a challenge to tall people because tallness goes hand in hand with long feet. Nothing seems to fit. The spaces in cars seem squeezed and, with height, some of the conveniences become inconvenient! Must I mention that thunder and lightning has this particular disliking of tall people?

Don’t you think, with the stuff stated above, that it is high time tall people were considered a special-interest group, and they get a stipend from government?
