They Forced Me To....

At first it felt like a test of patience but then again I noticed that I needed to be smart.

More often than not, people have frequently been compelled to go against their will and passion. It can be brainstorming to find oneself in a situation where you begin to question your willpower and doubt your instincts. In choosing Career path, Personal goals, Entrepreneurship, Lifestyle, to mention but few; people tend to feel withdrawn or discouraged due to some constraints which may be from Family, Friends, Colleagues or Society.

It is common to see some Parents say, "I want my Son to be a Doctor, my Daughter to be a Lawyer"....and the list goes on and on like that. But one thing they fail to understand and acknowledge is that sometimes forcing a Career path or choice on your child can have a negative future implications on the Child's life and overall perception of decision making power. So it is much better to guide your children and assist them in making a good Career decision for themselves and not outrightly imposing a supposedly "best Career path" for them. Instead show them your unwavering support and assistance as they become of age and are able to make Career choice for themselves.

The worst thing as a person is feeling "mislead or forced" to accept a pursuit that doesn't align with their ambition or passion.

Many at times people's potentials have been limited by their environment, social Class, lack of information, inadequate opportunities and so on. Societal standards, norms, expectations are some of the things that shape our thoughts and behavioral patterns and response to certain ideologies. They affect the decisions we make, either "negatively" or "positively".

However, it is commendable to allow people to make their own choices based on acceptable way of life and ethics instead of making them feel pressured or pushed into Career pursuit or something they don't have passion for.

The world will be a better place if there is more freedom in the areas of personal decision making, Career choice , etc.
