: GOV ENO’S EMERGENCY SERVICES INITIATIVE TO THE RESCUE
The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ubong Umoh in company of Medical personnel from the Akwa Ibom State Emergency Management Services and Ambulance Service (AKISEMSAS) are working round the clock to stabilize victims from a stand-off that took place earlier today, between Secondary School Students.
The swift arrival of the Commissioner for Education to the crisis scene saved the day for the students who reportedly slumped and were abandoned while scampering to safety, after the Police in a bid to quell the riotous situation fired teargas to disperse the mob that had already taken over some parts of Oron Road.
While efforts to stabilize the victims are ongoing in different health facilities, it would be recalled that the emergency services center alongside dozens of ambulances were inaugurated last weekend by Governor Umo Eno in a bid to strengthen healthcare services in the state.
