VALENTINE’S DAY CURIOUSITY: THE GIFTS OR THE LOVE?
Starting with some valid questions would definitely be a foundation to this article:
WHY SHOULD THE EXPRESSION OF LOVE BE RESTRICTED ONLY TO VALENTINE’S DAY?
Honestly, this is quite an important question that leads to another, and even more. As humans, we have become almost reliant on our sense of sight, and to a large extent, we have had our ‘’6th’’ sense dwarfed.
Carefully, I’ll love you to follow the direction this short scripted-conversation is headed.

Naturally, humans are loveable and love-expressive beings, but our over-attachments to seasons and times had in a way formed a template of when, how, why, and patterns of expressing this love which we are crafted with.
Valentine’s day was originally a day of love, for lovers. Overtime, it became a day to exchange gifts and spend quality time with loved ones, which should not be restricted only to that day, but at every given opportunity.
Love should be expressed as often as possible. Show it, be it, speak it, hype it, make everyone around you feel it; someone out there depends on your expressed love to live another day with hope.
Valentine is just one day in a year, but you you have 364 days remaining to make others feel loved.
Now, let’s talk about something you should be concerned about as it relates to love.
Colour me romantic, but I believe love should be appreciative of sacrifices made, risks taken, times spent and memories created. Love should be experienced everyday (realistically not every time) and expressed beyond doubt; so strong that your sixth sense hones it and screams ‘This is love!’
And Valentine’s day should be a day to celebrate and reflect on this love, not a day to wait for it to start and end.
Don’t restrict expression of love just on Valentine’s day, this 2021, make conscious efforts to EXPRESS IT EVERYDAY.
